I am 60 years old. For about two months I  have had temporary periods
of nausea, upset stomach, and fatigue. I also had a bout with diarrhea
which, surprisingly, disappeared right after I started taking Septra.
The symptoms often start about an a half hour or so after I have
finished a 35 minute fast walk on the treadmill. There is
no pain or shortness of breath, only fatigue, nausea, and a "sick on
my stomach" feeling. A stress test showed no sign of heart trouble
and I have no fatigue while on the treadmill.
A sonogram  revealed a thickened gallbladder wall and multiple
small (approximately 5 mm) polyps. My questions are: Is it
possible for these abnormalities to cause my symptoms? Or if not,
what other possibilities are there? Thank you for your help.

Dear Mr Rippy
Your symptoms are probably not related to gallstones. There is no known association between abdominal pain or nausea induced by physical activity and gallstones. In fact, just this week one of the premeire medical journals reported that men who exercise regularly have significantly less symptomatic gallstone disease than men who do not exercise.
Some gastrointestinal disorders that worsen with physical activity include: gastroesophageal reflux disease (commonly known as heartburn), and poor blood supply to the gastrointestinal organs.
