stool question?

stool question?

i have had thin stool on and off since may 01, it seems like it gets back ot normal if i drink water. if it was colon cancer it would always be thin????
sometimes there is mucus also..... please any info as to what this is would be great.

you don't mention how old you are, although colon cancer would be the very least likely thing to be causing your problem, especially if thats your only symptom.
if you're stressed out or if you have a sensitive stomach you may have an irrital bowel, and that will cause your colon to contract causing the thin stool.  if its better with water, its probably just something to do with you not getting enough liquids.  i would think that if it was colon cancer, your stools would be thin all the time as well seeing as the obstruction would be permanent.  i hope i've helped!!
