symptoms of ulcer

Could someone tell me the symptoms of an ulcer?I have been taking alot of ibuprophren lately due to jaw pain and I am having severe stomach pains off and on. Thanks

the symptoms of an ulcer usually are a tight, gnawing, hunger like pain in your upper abdomen.  Usually it is relieved by eating something, but it can sometimes be worsened.  I have two gastric ulcers from overuse of ibuprophen, and they feel like the worst huger pain ever than you can't make go away, and it was the most extreme discomfort I ever felt.  Usually you can pinpoint the pain with an ulcer.  In any case, switching to tylenol would help, the ibuprohphen is worsening it severly if it is an ulcer.  If you really need to take the advil, then buffer it with food, and soon begin trying to switch to tylenol.  In any case, get it checked out by your doctor, it really isn't worth it for you to suffer and just wait to see if it will go away.  If it is an ulcer, it can take up to a month to start healing, so I'd say see your doctor right away and get it checked out.  best of luck, hope you start feeling better
