throbbing neck pulses

Whats the underlying problem with a throbbing neck ? I got some sort of virus while on holiday last year and all tests were negative.I had tachycardia , heartburn and all the symptoms of GERD but no doctor could tell me why I felt so ill.I was worried about my heart but after a negative stress test,Im still unsure as I still get a rapid heart rate without hypervent. or panicking.Could I still have a problem with my heart as Ive read the that they are only 60% - 70% accurate.Up until last year I had never even been to a doctor, but now I feel like Im on the way out.

Hi Junior!!

Did the docs also tell you it is probably just a viral infection, and to go about life as normal?  Sounds like what is happening to me and no answers.  Have appt with Gastro on thurs as I am sure I have GERD - but 5 GP's have not diagnosed this.  Am constantly in pain, including throbbing neck (glands on side of neck under ears), chest pain (worse when lying down), itching ears, and palpitations.  Have gone off to emergency dept twice thinking my heart was in failure - no heart problem but absolutely no mention of gastric issues!!  I'm not angry - GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
