weight gain

I lost 20 lbs. after my surgery.  I had my surgery on Nov. 3,2004.  I am eating good and taking care of myself but I have only gained 2 lb. back.  Is this normal?

Tough to say without knowing what kind of surgery you had.  Also the reason why the weight was lost is important.  Dietary intake would be a key factor that would contribute to the rate of weight gain.  I would also check a thyroid level - since hyperthyroidism can lead to weight loss or impaired weight gain.

Also, it has only been 2 months after surgery - there would be some cases where the weight gain would be slower than others.

You may want to consider a referral to a dietician to ensure adequate caloric intake and discuss a thyroid level with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
