this liver bx is adequate, with 6-8 portal trsids, show mild to moderate expansion by chronic lymphocytic infiltrates, mostly small lymphocytes with rare plasma cells.piecemeal necrosis is generally not seen, although one or two foci suggest evolving process.Intralobular inflammmation is milf and focal. steatosis is moderate and mostly macrovesicular and it appears to be midzonal.

Normally, there is an interpretation section where the pathologist can give an impression of the raw results.

There are suggestions of inflammation.  Most common cause of this picture is hepatitis, which can be caused by alcohol or an infectious or autoimmune cause.

Obtaining blood tests to look for the aforementioned causes of hepatitis should be done.  Imaging the liver with an ultrasound or CT scan can also be part of the workup as well.

These options should be discussed with a GI physician.
