where do I go from here?

where do I go from here?

Hello. I have been experiencing constant "weird" feelings in my stomach for a little over 2 months.  Most of the time it is like a dull nauseous feeling, and other times it is severe.  I have not vomitted since, but feel very close at times. It began one night when I thought I was coming down with a stomach virus: nausea, chills, a quick episode of diarrhea, and then "shakes". My body would shake uncontrollably for a few seconds, then rest, then shake again. It was almost like an all over muscle twitch, like shivering.  This only lastes 15 min. and I forced myself to sleep.  Never woke up, slept well, never vomitted.  Since then, the nausea is still here. Also, my hands (arms) shake as though I am nervous, sometimes it's mild, but sometimes it's worse (when I'm doing physical activity). I went to the Immediate Care Clinic- had blood tests for blood glucose levels, thyroid, and viral infection-all ok. Recently (past  3 days) I have suffered from a sensitive gag reflex.  When I talk continuously or breathe in deep through my nose, I feel my throat, or gag relflex activate and it makes my stomach "giddy".  I know that this is a lot of different symptoms-if there is any possible advice on what could be wrong, or who I should see, it would be greatly appreciated.  If this helps- doctors diagnosed me with vertigo 10 years ago but it never flares up.  2 weeks after feeling this way and after flying, it flared up and I had all vertigo syptoms (symptoms) for 9 days. It all went away except for this- which I had 2 weeks prior.  ShouLd I see a neurologist? Gastroenterlogist? What can I do about the nausea? It is beginning to dampen everything.  Thank you very much, for any advice,
Stephanie

I would evaluate for GI causes.  Things like GERD, an ulcer, or inflammation of the upper digestive tract can lead to your symptoms.  The description of "feeling your throat" can be akin to a globus sensation associated with GERD.

You can consider an upper GI series or upper endoscopy for an initial evaluation.  If inconclusive, a 24-hr pH study can be considered for a more definitive diagnosis of GERD.

If negative, you can discuss with your personal physician going down another route - since heart problems or anxiety can also lead to similar symptoms.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
