white substance in stool

Hello doctor, Friday morning I woke up and had diarhea (diarrhea) that wasnt to bad it lasted for a little bit than went away for the rest of the day.  Towards the end of the day on friday I would think i would have to use the restroom and would just pass gas and a white almost clear substance.  Today my stomach no longer hurts and I used the restroom and while my stool did not seem as loose I still passed the same white substance and some of it was on the stool itself.  Im just curious to what this could be.  I had no fever during any of this.  Thank you

Whitish substance from stool can be mucous, or it can be lightening of the stool itself.  If the stool returns to normal, that's reassuring.  Persistently light stool makes one wonder about the ability for one to conjugate bilirubin, and needs to be checked out.
