worried mom, please help

Hello Dr.

Brief History- I am a 37 yr old female, over weight 5' 2" 150lbs. In DEC 2006 I had a Colonoscopy and upper Endoscopy. Findings were positive ( 2+ / 4+ )  for H. pylori, hiatial hernia, fragments of gastric mucosa with moderate to severe chronic gastritis, very focal activity.no dysplasia or malignancy seen. Was put on a 2 week cocktail to eradicte bacteria, one month later I took the h. pylori breath test and the exam came back negative for the infection.
I have acid reflux and was put on Zegerid, was told to "take it when I knew I was going to eat somehting to trigger heartburn".  Colonoscopy came back negative, I have internal hemmoroids (hemorrhoids).

Well, it's 2008- and I am having stomach pains and it is somewhat relieved whenever I eat. Blood in stool now and then. I am worried that I might have stomach cancer?  I was reading somewhere it states that if your  blood type is A and had the h.pylori bacteria, you have a higher chance of developing stomach cancer? as stated before, I was not taking my PPI everday,
BUT a month ago I started taking nexium 20mg everyday, it is not helping, don't know if i need a higher dose.  I had bloodwork done march 2008, got tested for HIV,Lupus,Hepatitis all came back negative. My SED RATE was  21 (limits (0-20). My Iron is  33 (limits 35-155), Iron Saturation 8 (limits 15-55).  I am not anemic was told to take a multivitamin with iron? CBC with diff was normal. Had an MRI with contrast done as well in march, of the liver and kidneys. Findings, fatty liver with 2 small cysts. Filling defects within the dependent portion of gallbladder lumen may refects small stomes or sludge, No MR evidence of renal cysts. and  small hiatial hernia.

QUESTIONS:  What are the chances of me having stomach cancer since I was tested negative 12-12-06. How long does it take for stomach cancer to develop? What other test should I have done?

Thank you for your time.

I cannot give odds without evaluating your chart.

The upper endoscopy is the best test to evaluate for stomach cancer.  A negative test in 2006 would make it less likely, but the possibility is not zero.  No test will be 100% sensitive.

If there continues to be concern for cancer, repeating the upper endoscopy is recommended.
