Colonoscopy with NuLytely bowel Prep

by bonbon1981, Sep 11, 2009 11:34PM
I'm wondering if anybody has done a colonoscopy bowel prep using:
Nulytely with flavor packs?
I'm 27 yrs old. I have severe endometriosis. I went to my ob/gyn complaining of stomach pain (prior to Bowel movement, during bowel movement). sometimes I have a sudden urge to use the restroom after I eat. I also have stomach pain off & on.
So... my ob/gyn suggested I go see a G.I. dr.  This is to rule out other causes of stomach pain besides endometriosis.
with my G.I. dr. appt. I explained that I have endometriosis & pain, ect....
The G.I. Dr. said he would do a colonoscopy to check me out :) this will be my first colonoscopy, it's scheduled for sept. 24th.
Lets see...
for my colonoscopy prep:
clear liquid diet day before procedure (starting morning- breakfast). I ordered some boost breeze orange flavored (nutritional drink): Online. i read that it's clear liquid.
I was thinking that I would have sierra mist, apple juice, lemon jello, chicken broth.
I read that popcicles are ok (If it has no fruit chunks).
Starting noon- start drinking Nulytely.... I'm wondering if anybody has done this type of prep, how exactly does the stuff taste? It comes with flavor packs, I'm thinking of getting the cherry packs.
with clear liquids I can have those till midnite, Nothing after midnite to drink.

I'm wondering for anybody in general who did the liquid bowel prep (nulytely). how did you coordinate drinking liquids throughout the whole day?
I also have to take 4 stool softener (dulcolax): @ 6pm night before my test.
morning of procedure- 2 fleet enemas morning before my test
Lets see... Is there anything that may help the night before starting clear liquids (such as liquid stool softener), to help me better?

I thought I would ask to get some ideas.
If anybody has anything I would appreicate it :-)

thanks,
Bonnie

I just had a colonocsopy last wed.  I had to drink --I think it was called MOVI Prep.  Anyway, it was "lemon" flavored.  I had a very hard time keeping it down.  I throw up a couple of times.  My procedure was 2:00 pm on wed.  tues night @ 6:00 pm I had to start the drink.  It was broken up into 4----8oz amounts.  I had to drink 1 8oz part every 15 mins.  It was like drink a whole container of salt that was thickened.  So I had a hard time.  I was on the toliet most of the night.  I think I fell asleep around 3:00 am.  I had to do it again at 8:00am that morrning of the procedure.  I could not finish it but I was fine. The Doctor said as long as your"poo" is bright yellow and all liquid(no pieces in it) it's good.  ---The prep was the worst part.  The colonoscopy was no problem- they IV-ed me, I was out.  I did not hurt after, I had side effects to stuff they used to knock me out.  You do need someone to drive you home because you are a little out of.
I hope this helps.
