Lower Stomach Pain & Dizziness Proceeding Stomach Flu

Last Monday I came down with a bad case of stomach flu, vomiting & diarrhea for about 9 hours straight accompanied by sever abdominal pain.  It’s now Saturday (5 days after) the vomiting & diarrhea is gone but I still have this lingering feeling that I have to poop even after going.  My bowl movements are regular but the sensation of having to go “won’t go” and it’s getting a little frustrating at this point.  I noticed today that I am now feeling a little dizzy in addition to this sensation, any ideas?

I'd like to think that the dizziness is related to dehydration but at this point I’m thinking something else.  It’s been a week now and I still have stomach pressure that feels very similar to gas as if I have to go.  In the mornings I feel decent but once I start eating it gets noticeably worse.  I have notified my doctor at this point and he advised that if the symptoms don’t go-away by EOD Tuesday that I should come see him.

I forgot to add that you should pour alcohol on your toothbrush to sterilize it, and then rinse it real good, or get a new toothbrush.  It can harbor germs that might reinfect you.

Stomach flu continues to goof up your digestive system long after the worst of it goes.  As for that feeling of not getting it all out or not being able to go, then just as soon as you've done all you can in the bathroom, just up and quit, and figure to yourself that you'll go when your body is good and ready.  You are dizzy because all that previous diarrhea and vomiting has depleted your nutrients and you're dehydrated.  So, drink some extra water, eat foods with fiber like whole grains and salad, and eat plenty of whatever regular food appeals to you.
