stools, green stools, I've had mucous and/or pus on my stools... some stools were two-toned, some where half soft half hard, various textures. Today after being very constipated, I managed to defecate, it was a hard lumpy stool, but the real unpleasantness was that it was covered in a thick layer of either pus of mucous, it was a whitish sticky substance
pain, however I have a pain in my right side when I cough or sneeze, and I have a pain in my lower back and what feels like my lower spine, the Doctor puts these pains down to a simple sprain
... I really do not think they are symptoms of a sprain, but 'hey' he's the Doctor.
From reading the above, what do you think?
I am being investigated for kidney trouble, initial tests seem clear. Finally, I have not been drinking as many fluids as I should have, yet recently I have been having differing urine colours, the latest which is very clear, I've been looking online and it says that's a sign of being well hydrated... while I don't think I'm dehydrated, I wouldn't say I was well hydrated either.
PLEASE...PLEASE check out a condition called Celiacs Disease or GLuten Intollerance. Your symptoms sound as they could fall into this and the fix is fairly easy. You MUST quit eating wheat, barley, rye products which means bread, cake, pasta, beer, ketchup..anything containing gluten. The one sure way to find out is to eliminate gluten from your diet and you should see results within a week.
What is leading me to believe it could be a gluten issue is the constipation and mucus you have...classic symptoms of Celiacs disease. This disease is commonly misdiagnosed as IBS because docs cant make any money from this as there is no treatment other than eliminating gluten.
Hi,
Thanks for the advice, I did check it out, but the symptoms don't seem too similar.
Today, I did pass a thick solid stool with visible red blood, later followed by smaller thin stools, so clearly their is an obstruction, but what could it be?
Here, we have the NHS, it's a free health service, so the public don't pay for treatment, and can get free medication too, so the Doctors have little or nothing to gain by not being totally honest.
Hi Andy, it's horrible playing the waiting game i also live in the Uk and as we don't pay we have to wait, which is not a bad thing. Your colonoscopy will deliver the goods. and hopefully put your mind at rest. Please, please, please, let me know how you get on, as i am having the same symptoms.
It sure is a long, long game. Keep your eye on this thread as I sure will update what I hear when I hear it, and if you hear anything first, do the same.
