severe abdominal pain-left side under ribcage

Any help on what I should do??? About a week ago I woke up at 1am with sharp pains/gas and could not get comfortable or go back to sleep, the following day the pain persisted and got so bad I had to go to urgent care.  The Dr. did an x-ray and found a large air pocket below my left rib cage as well as more air pockets and stool in my entire abdominal region. He prescribed a bottle of Magnesium Citrate to loosen me up.  Sure enough it loosened me up but the pain never went away and two days after that I ended up in the ER.  They checked for gull stones/kidney stones, did blood tests and a CT scan of my mid section and everything came back normal.  They prescribed Zantac and said possible gastroenitis.  Two days after that I decided to meet with an internist who then did a brief checkup, asked my family history of diseases, etc. and concluded it was just gas so she prescribed Beano and levisit...I just called her again this morning because over the past few days the pain gets better during the day and then worse at night and I am switching between constipation and diarrhea, with the constant pain on my left side traveling around to my left lower lat region.  All of a sudden I am extremely sensitive to what I eat afraid it may cause bloating, severe pain,constipation,etc...

Any advice on what I should do, or anyone having similar symptoms?

An abdominal ultrasound can check for gallbladder stones, but not for nonfunctioning gallbladder.  You'd need a HIDA scan for that.

You could try MiraLax as it will keep stool moving and help with the gas instead of causing more.

You could try stopping milk and make sure you haven't started a food with sugar alcohols that you might be reacting badly to.  Usually that's in diet food, even sugarless gum.
