1 month Constipation??

Hello,

I haven't had a natural bowel movement in about a month. I was on antibiotics (ospen-some penicillin stuff) for tonsilitis, which I have had before and taken the same medicine before, when I realized I needed to go to the bathroom but couldnt. I took guttalax, and had a waterfall of a movement, but then after a few days filled up again. Long story short, its been like this ever since (1 month of aided movements, or nothing).

I started to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, and activia yogurt, and apple juice, salad, prune juice, etc. after this all occurred, but so far, no improvement.

my symptoms are basically whatever I eat turns me bloated (like 5 months pregnant bloated), and I end up feeling full and the need to go to the bathroom, but all I can do is gas. and that happens alright, a ton of gas, and there is relief. but still no bowel movement! Also the more I fill up, the itchier my butt crack gets. like extreme itchiness.

After googling I have adopted the idea that it might be a muscle problem at the end of the tract, because i can push from the inside and it feels promising, all to be stopped at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry this was so gross, I am just scared!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, looks like you are suffering from constipation and the consequent effects. Lack of adequate oral fluids and irregular diet (decreased bulk), can further aggravate the problem. As a result of constipation you might have developed fissure in ano. I would advise you to develop a lifestyle to fight constipation. Drink plenty of water. Regular meals with high fiber content like green leafy vegetables, plenty of fruits, lots of oral fluids and exercise will help relieve constipation. As natural ways take over you should wean yourself of the laxatives. As laxative abuse comes with numerous unpleasant consequences. So, try to limit its usage, but you can take to tide over this acute phase. Please consult your primary care physician if symptoms worsen. Regards.

Also when the laxatives do work, it is just basically watery feces coming out! take a few trips to the bathroom over the course of a few hours after the laxatives (I take them once a week because I am afraid of using too much)

Also I should add that I am in NO PAIN. just slight discomfort and feel weighed down :-(
