Thanks! We are a military family so we can't switch pediatricians. We have another appt today so hopefully we will make some progress!
thank you mammo - I also meant to suggest changing pediatricians for the same reason you stated. I'm glad you caught my omission!
I would take your baby to see a pediatric gastroenterologist for the best diagnosis and tretament with this. The Pedialyte is for dehydration which she will have with all this, but it may not be getting into her system, which then creates more serious issues. I would also switch pediatricians, this one does not have your baby's best interest at heart.
I think it could very well be a milk allergy - I had a milk allergy as a child and had the same symptoms, as well as vomiting and abdominal pain.
i would contact her pediatrician again and ask him for advice on trying a milk-free diet to see if it helps her symptoms. When they were checking me for the milk allergies (this was 40 some years ago though), the originally took me off not only all milk products, but all wheat products as well (try packing a lunch for a first grader without using dairy or wheat products!!) After a couple of weeks, we slowly started adding things back into my diet, one item at a time to determine what was causing the problems. Like I said, this was 40 some years ago, so I'm sure there are probably other ways to determine a food allergy like milk now.
Best of luck and I hope she feels better soon!
