10 days of stomach (?) pain

by nazcat, Jul 08, 2001 12:00AM
Hello, well, its been over a week, it started when I ate a very greasy western sandwitch, so I thought it was indigestion, a tight pain in my stomach (right between and below my ribs) after two days of this pain I decided to take something for gas. the pain lessened but did not go away, on the sixth day I went walking, I noticed the pain got worse, breathing in deeply hurt, the jar of impact from walking hurt, and if I pressed my hand to a spot two inches below my breastline, right between my rib cage, it really hurt, but it didnt hurt if I touched anywhere in my gut.  my friend thinks its gas,  but Ive never had anything like this, especially how long it has lasted,  plus I used to go to the bathroom around once a day, Ive "gone" 3 times in a week.. maybe its because the gas medicine I took on the second day was also for diarreah, but would it last so long?  plus I ate raisin bran every morning,  I thought maybe it might be an ulcer,  but it came on so suddenly..  is it possible?
breathing deeply is still hard, the pain feels kind of muscular, like as if i pulled something.  if I lie still it doesnt hurt very much at all.
please help {:\

Do you have your gallbladder still?  Apparently it can give you persistent pain after a fatty meal if you have gallstones.

there are some good articles on the gallbladder and having gallbladder stones on this site.  You might want to do a little bit of reading.   I myself have one large gallstone which causes me to always have ++gas.  I have been lucky and never had an attack though.  Just do some reading and maybe you should go see your Doctor if your symptoms persist.
