Mikie,
Sometimes right after surgery, the body goes into shock, and the bowels can shut down.  But with several months of this, I'm thinking if you're on pain medication or really any medication for your neck, that stuff can clog up the digestion big-time.  There are several things "natural" things you can do to "prime" your digestion system.  You may have an empaction going on, where it's stopped up.  A few enemas with a long tube can begin to break down waste a little bit, followed by some laxatives which stimulate the bowels to move.  Also, drink some "Acidophilus" milk, which also helps break down waste, and drink extra water to rehydrate your system if drugs are drying you out.

If this sort of thing doesn't work, I reckon you should visit a gastroenterologist, who is far more familiar with digestive problems than your neck surgeon would be.  And it's NOT normal not to have a bowel movement for all these months, so you could go to the ER in the meantime, becuz you ought to be in a whole lot of misery and throwing up if you haven't passed waste in all this time.  Or you could get a squeeze-in emergency appointment next week with your regular family doc, and have him review any medications you're taking, perhaps have some more fixes for your digestion, and also he can refer you to the gastro specialist.
