2 Stents placed in Bile duct-ERCP

Just last Friday I had the stent in my Biliary duct replaced, again, and this time the doctor put it 2 stents saying that it might help pry the duct open further. That way maybe the duct would stay open and I would not have to keep having the stent replaced avery 3-4 months. I have been doing this for 2 years, and this is the 1st time he put two stents in. I had seen a surgeon who thought he might be able to help me, but he had me change the stent. I am wondering if they are lying to me. How many ERCP's can I have? Don't ERCP's lead to Pancreatitis? I certainly don't need any other problems, and definitely no more pain.
I had my GB removed 13 years ago, they nicked the duct, but failed to inform me. 2 years ago the duct closed, this is the reason for the stents
