2 weeks of bloating, gas and loose stool

I am a 29 year old seemingly fit and healthy woman.  Two weeks ago I had an onset of intense stomach pain.  I was on vacation in a foriegn country, but went to the doctor.  After a quick exam he said my stomach was inflamed and I had gastritis.  He gave me some pills that I took and they made me very sick.  I was going to the bathroom literally every 15-30 mins for 2 days until what he gave me ran through my system.  My stomach pain left after those initial couple days but I have been left with extreme bloating; constant gas and loose stool that is generally yellowish.  Im not sure what to do.  I am living and working in another foriegn country where it is difficult to find a Doctor that will fully understand my problem in English.  

Five years ago I had a large cyst that ruptured and damaged my intestine so severly I had to have a bowel resection and 4 feet of intestine removed.  I know that was a seperate event, but it is background history and I am scared and uncomfortable and just not sure what is going on with me.

My daughter had your exact symptoms and went through a series of testing.  The first question from the physician was "did you visit a foreign country?"  She had not.  It was determined that this particular parasite was carried through "water" most commonly found in underground water resources such as wells.  She is very careful not to drink tap water any longer when in unfamiliar places and only will drink bottled water.
