3 years of diarrhea - 2 doctors - no diagnosis

I'm a 26 year old female who has generally has good health. I'm active, try to maintain a healthy diet, and have had one child.

Three years ago I began experiencing occasional bouts of painful diarrhea. These "attacks" as I've begun calling them would last 4 hours or so. During which I would have extreme upper abdominal pain around my liver, a churning-grinding sensation in my stomach, sweating, nausea, and would literally have constant uncontrollable diarrhea until my stomach was empty. After my abdomen would be sore to the touch.

When these attacks became a weekly event, I went to see a gastroenterologist. He ran no tests. He literally looked at me and said "well you look like a healthy young woman to me. This is IBS. There's nothing I can do for you really. You can try to eat more fiber and it might help make these episodes less frequent."

So I tried the fiber. And for a while it seemed to work. Then the attacks came back with a vengeance. Instead of weekly it became daily. I had to carry extra clothes around me because I sometimes didn't make it to restroom in time. I saw another doctor who told me it sounded like lactose intolerance. So I nixed the dairy. So far, it hasn't had any effect.

Now I have diarrhea all the time. Literally it is very rare for me not to have it. When I don't I find myself wondering "what did I do right this time?" Right now I'm sitting in the bathroom, in pain, running out of toilet paper (again) and wondering if I am going to spend the rest of my life like this.

Someone please help.

Hi NerdyMommy254.
Please look into the SCD program.
It might be your life saver.
Continue on this current path and trust me, the prognosis
is much worse than your present experience, even if you think, it doesn't get any worse than this!
For the time being, I would eliminate ALL wheat and gluten
from your diet and also go sugar-free, low carb. And no artificial sugars either! Do this for a few weeks, before you attempt the full SDC. Be aware that gluten is in everything,
well almost everything! Shampoo, cosmetics, envelopes,
playdough, soups, condiments... and often listed as an ingredient with a... different name. There are dozens of
gluten aliases :(
Often dairy is cross-reactive with gluten, as 1/2 the people
with gluten sensitivity, also have a dairy sensitivity.

If you have a hard time doing the above, you may want to look into Dr. Coca's Pulse test-free download-, which only takes a week of meticulously self-testing everything you consume, by taking your pulse at specified times every day.
Best wishes,
Niko
