thank you everyone for your input and i'm now a little more clued in.
My son has had 2 endoscopies and a capsule endoscopy(swallowed a pill sized camera). He is also nauseated every day when he wakes up through a good portion of the day.(now not as bad with medications) For him, they wanted to rule out ulcers, and Crohns disease. They did find a little inflamation on his 2nd endoscopy, but that wasn't the problem for him. They did several GI tests, upper GI, ultrasound, antroduodenal test, etc....
Because my son also suffered from migraines, that he no longer has, they determined his nausea is a neurological problem. They believe possibly silent migraines. Since they were able to rule out the usual GI problems from all the tests they did. This all ties into his main diagnosis of dysautonomia. From the dysautonomia, he also has gastroparesis- his stomach empties too slowly, which can cause nausea.
Hello, jojobean88:
I am not a physician, but a physician may also answer your questions. I contribute to MedHelp, because I have had my fair share of digestive problems like you. I wonder whether an endoscope with camera or a pill camera will take pictures of your digestive system? I still have copies of pictures of my ulcer made with an Olympus Endoscope. The pill camera makes it way through your digestive tract. The person who swallows the pill camera wears a special belt that controls the camera and the film cartridge. The belt maintains the camera's path and the pill camera goes to your colon for exit in a bowel movement. Since you have hard bowels, the pill camera will probably not be used to view your digestive tract.
The endoscope(endoscopy)has several functions like the camera, push air and water spray,a device to nick and take a biopsy if needed. You will lie on a table and your throat will be sprayed with a substance that reduces your gag-reflex when the endoscope is inserted into your throat. The endoscope is inserted into your throat on your left side since there is more area of your stomach to view inside your stomach see inside your stomach. Years ago, my esophagus narrowed, and I could easily get choked because food may not pass into my stomach. One of the attachments on the tip of the endoscope can spread open your esophagus if needed. You breathe through your nose while the endoscope is inside your stomach. You may cough several times that is natural until you adjust to the feel of the endoscope.
The procedure is usually short, maybe 10 to 15 minutes unless more time is needed. I have had GERD for 15 years, and I take Prilosec, 20-mg, once a day. I never have pain.
The reasons physicians cannot find all the clues to your problems immediately is there are 25 digestive disorders, some with similar symptoms reported by Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, a sponsor for MedHelp.
Good luck, and I hope your find a solution to your digestive problems.

hmm might be more haemorrhoid related if you find blood on your stools and tissue when you have bowel movement.
As for the camera/endoscopy I believe they want to rule out the possibility that you may have ulcers on the lining of your stomach which can contribute to nausea.
