7 year old boy with stomach pain 2 years+

My son, who is 7 years old, has been complaining of his stomach hurting for 2+ years. We've been to the Peds GI and had an endoscopy done (normal results in November 07). He is having difficulty with constipation but more importantly, chronic stomach pain - especially after eating, loss of appetite, fatigue, and hands shaking. He isn't growing or gaining weight. Any help on where to start looking would be appreciated as we have to wait until the 18th of March until we can get him in to the doctor.

Krazymom, you may want to consider checking him for celiac disease. All of the symptoms you're relating can be seen in those with that issue. The problem is in diagnosis. Some don't have blatant celiac which most docs think should show up with an endoscopy - and that's not always true. The blood tests isn't that reliable either, but you could give it a try.

You miight consider checking with others in your family to see if anyone in the extended family has celiac. You could also try finding a doc who will use the fecal antibody test for gluten, and the genetic testing (allele) to see if that could be the problem. You can look into it's use at enterolab.com.
