AFTER DIVERTICULITIS

After completing medication for  diverticulitis, I'm still having pain daily, prior to a bm.  When I am constipated, I'm fine,  the best I've felt since the 2nd week of November, but that has happened only twice in the last month.   I'm scheduled for a colonstcopy the first week of Feb. The reason for the delay is that the ct scans show that while the infection is gone, I still have  lymphnodes in the colon which could be causing the pain. My surgeon wants to wait until my colon is healed, 5 weeks after medication has stopped to do the procedure. I have a prescription from her for the cramp relief, but it doesn't seem to work. I am living on advil.  I have my instructions for the procedure where it states no advil type product for at least 1 week prior.  I can't imagine living with this daily pain for 1 week without a pain reliever.  Any suggestions.

How about Tylenol? Is that allowed? Usually its O.K. when Nsaids are contraindicated. It may not have the same anti-inflamatory properties but it can help with pain.
