ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS?

The full details of my situation are in my journal. I guess this is a low point for me, every time i think the nausea and the diarrhea are going away they come back and im stuck sitting up till 1am trying to get to sleep but i cant because my stomach is cramping and the queasy feeling wont go away. Ive eaten so much ginger i feel like i could throw up. I feel fine and then i get hungry and then i eat and then the minute it gets to my stomach i feel sick. Then it takes about half an hour for it to go away or longer, most of the time longer. Ive had tests but i havnt been to a gastro dr yet, mostly because my doctor has me believing it was just a bacterial infection that needs to work its way out of my system. I havnt felt normal or myself for a long time now. I feel like im on gaurd all the time as if it could come back at any second. I dont know if this is stress related or what, im just so confused has anyone else had this or have any suggestions as to what it could be?

Wow its nice to know that there is somewhere out there even the slightest bit like me or having similar symptoms. I completely know what you mean about not feeling normal and missing yourself. Im only 21, 22 in November and nothing like this runs in my family but i dont think i can handle the thought of having this forever, for it not being something that needs to be found and treated and thats all.

Ive never been as sick as this in my life and while ive always had a sensitive stomach from time to time ive never had any allergies or problems like this before so im not even used to handling it. Dont worry about not being help, just knowing someone else knows what im going through is help enough. Relieving definately. Im going back to the doctor tomorrow morning where she will put me through another round of tests and refer me to a gastro dr.

My job is safe, but i completely understand what your talking about there, even having to call in and ask for time off, which i havnt done. in 7 weeks i have taken no more than 4 days off and suffered through cramps, nausea and boughts of diarrhea at work, makes me feel bad. I work for my mother so she is a little more understand but even then it seems so unfair to have to justify why you need time off when you just want to curl up and fade away.

Im the same ill be fine for a little bit, the longest was about a week or two and then it came back again. Its like it gives me a taste of my old life then takes it away from me. Im confident it is nothing serious but it doesnt help dealing with it you know? You have no idea .... (or maybe you do lol) how good it is to find someone who knows what your going through, even just a little bit.

HELPINUTAH ; No problem, i completely know the feeling of everything coming back and getting sick. Relapsing as i have called it to my family and bf, all of whom went through a time of not understanding and thinking i was semi making a big deal out of nothing and have all now eaten their words.

Im pretty sure that when i get refered to the gastro dr by my GP she will reccomend me having an endoscope done which im not all that worried about actually. I just want to know what is wrong ... stop worrying and be me again, you know?

It sounds pretty similar to what I'm going though.  It’s been 5 weeks now for me and still no real answers.  I've had a few blood test, stool, and urine test and all came back negative.  Most of the time I feel too nauseas to eat much (lost 12 lbs) and I’ve had diarrhea almost every day.  I do get better for a few days and then all of the sudden the nausea comes back so bad that I just want to curl up and die.  I've been to a GI once and he thought I might have had "post antibiotic diarrhea" were-as an antibiotic I was taking killed all the good bacteria in my system and he told me to take probiotic and try and stay on a B.R.A.T. diet… but I don’t think that’s the case because I’ve been taking probiotic for 2 weeks now and I’m still really sick.  But if you have recently been on an antibiotic I would have them test you for C. Diff (I never got tested for it though) just in case you have that?

I know what you mean about being really scared since you see all the post about people who go thru things for years, I am too.  And my job is threatening to fire me because I miss too much…It just doesn’t seem fair to me for them to do that since I haven’t done anything wrong, just sitting home suffering.  I’m a 25/f and I don’t think I can spend the rest of my life like this…I miss me so much.

I’m sorry I don’t really have any helpful information.  Yours is the closet case to mine that I’ve seen on here.  So at least you know you’re not alone in experiencing this, I know it’s awful.  Hang in there and try and see a GI as soon as you can.  Mine gave me an anti-nausea medicine…but I think it might have made me feel worse (I’m not sure).  I know if you can get your hands on some Zofran you’ll feel a million times better, It wont stop the diarrhea but your nausea will be gone, but they usually only prescribe it to people going thru kemo. Its also $20 a pill here in the US.  They gave it to me in the ER about a month ago.

Thank you for your note!!!

As for your stomach, ask your doctor to have an endoscope done.  Some of your symptoms could be pancreatitis as well.  That's what I have and have similar symptoms.  Have they taken blood work?  If not, ask your doctor to check your pancreatic enzymes.

Good luck!  I hope the figure this out for you soon!

Thanks, while my stomach was still upset, your tip about laying on my left side helped and i got a few hours of sleep, not much but something is better than nothing. Im hesitant to take things for my nausea cause im worried they will make it worse or make me throw up. Urgh i was hoping to wake up and have it be gone by now ... no such luck.

hi again, yes absolutely, these disorders can occur in new born children, personaly i think your acid reflux is causing your nausea, have you tried mylanta or gaviscon? as for the diarrea you can drink really black tea no suger or milk, that usually stops it in its tracts, when you lay down the acid is coming back up your oesaphagus cause the yuck feeling, if you lay on your left it should make you feel better, because your stomach now is like a bottle without the top, if you lay on your right side the acid will spill but on your left it stays put, cheers.

Me to i thought i was the only one here. The nausea is just none stop at the moment, my stomach feels like its in notes and the diarrhea has almost gone away which means it only lasted for a few hours. Is it common for people to get an allergy like the ones you suggested at 21 which is my age now?  ....... 1:52am and everytime i lay down the nausea turns in my stomach so much i have to sit back up. It just feels never ending. Not to mention it is scarey reading about all these people who have stomach problems that go on for months on end with no answers.

Firstly thankyou so much, im only 21 so i guess when i go into my gp i dont know what im asking for or about and the very first doctor i went to told me i had to just stick to a diet and the symptoms would go away which they didnt. If they keep persisting ill go to the doctor and ask for those tests you suggested, which i may do anyway just so i know. I also live in AUS which is nice to see someone else from here on here XD friendly face per say. thanks for your help.

hi again, basically the h-pylori, fructose and lactose are breath tests very non-intrusive, the gluten one involves blood test or just eliminate wheat and wheat products from your diet for a while to see if it is that, all of these sensitivities tend to manifest themselves with the symptoms you are complaining about, i dont know about costs of the tests in your country but here in australia they are all free. cheers, p.s. dont stress keep happy.

Hi, thanks for the reply. No i havnt been tested for any of that. I had a stool test done that resulted in to many white blood cells being in it but was negative for giardia which is what she thought i had. I had a blood test that came back negative for inflammatory bowel disease etc, i had a urine test that came back negative but besides that nothing else. Ive just been sort of suffering with it for 7 weeks. Should i go back to my doctor and ask for these tests? And what are the tests for most of these?
