Abdominal Discomfort, Nausea

Over the last 8 days I have had a discomfort in my upper center abdomen just below my rib cage. This discomfort comes and goes all day long. The worst that I felt it was the other night when I had hot soup (chicken & rice), I doubled over in pain. I felt the soup reach my stomach, and I saw stars... Since that night I have not felt anything like that, regardless of what I eat.

I wake up in the morning feeling very nauseous and in the last 48hrs I constant have a tired feeling where I can't stop yawning. I get very tense when not moving around, and my shoulder/neck begins to stiffen up. I have the ability to crack my left shoulder, and when I do this, the tension is relieved for a couple of minutes.

My bowel movement have been loose, and stringy, almost looks like bits of phlegm.

Finally, I sometimes feel like I have a bubble just below my throat, like a burp that can not rise.

I have no health care, and if this isn’t something that sounds life threatening I rather not go to a doctor at this point, because my health care kicks in Jan. 9th, 2003 and I don't want this considered a pre-existing condition

Oh yes, one more thing... my neighbor who is a PA thought it might be gallbladder related, but she pushed my stomach, and ride side and there was zero pain.

Do you drink alcohol?  Have you any history of gallbladder problems?  Does it seem worse with certain foods?  How long does the pain last?  Since the gallbladder is on the right side, what about pain when you press on the left side, just under the rib cage?  

When you do go in to see the doctor, make sure he checks the Amylase & Lipase levels.
