Abdominal Pain and Elevated ESR

by jmcruz, Apr 05, 2002 12:00AM
Dear Sirs,

I'm a 36 old male (BMI=21,9), usually healthy. I have some abdominal pain, more or less, sensible abdominal, since 2 days.

3 days ago (1 day before pain started) I had rotine blood tests that were with all parameters in normal ranges, except in what concernes to erythrocite sedimentation rate. It seems elevated -> 9 mm (1rst hour); 27 mm (2nd hour) and Katz Index of 11,3.

In the first painless day, it was really pain, yesterday was better and today it's more uncomfortness and sensitive pain when I touch my abdominal area, specially in the bely area. I have, also, some discomfort in my lower back area. I have no fever (I'm under 37 degree Celsius).

Could this be related ?

Can abdominal abnormalities, like inflamation (inflammation), could conduct also to lower back pain (or are only, ususally, front pain) ?

Could inlamatory proccess like this last for some days ?

Can this be treated only being care with my alimentation ? - Sugestions ? - Next week I'm going to my physician to saw the blood tests results - It could till then ?

Thanks
