Abdominal Pain (left side) Under Rib Cage

Abdominal Pain (left side) Under Rib Cage

Hi, I'm not sure what to make of the pain I feel. The pain isn't all the time, it's more like an on/off every now and then, but anyways, the pain I feel is on the left side of my body and it's right under where my rib cage ends. I have gone to the doctor about this, and he suggested that I lose some weight. So unless it's a weight issue, can anyone tell me if the pain I'm feeling could be related to my gallblader (gallbladder)? I'm a little worried that it might be a gallstone, and I saw how bad that could get because my grandmother had one for several years before the doctors finally found it, and it nearly killed her, but fortunatly she survived ALL odds.

Another problem is that I always feel like I have gas and stomache cramps. They can get really painful.

Also, I have an acid reflux problem that's been bothering me for years (it feels like my stomache and esauphogus are going to brn eachother off), but I've been on medication for that for about a year now. I am currently taking a medication called Raberprazole.
