Abdominal Pain

by carl_graf, Aug 23, 2009 05:20PM
The symptoms described below are similar to Michele-K's "elusive diagnosis" post from March 23, 1999.  If anyone has information regarding that post, please share . . . I am much in need a of a diagnosis/cure.

I have a bloated feeling in my abdomin (abdomen).  The only things that bring relief are belching and peppermint oil, not necessarily together.  Relief quickly subsides after the belching ceases/peppermint oil passes.

Been scoped from both ends, ultrasound, CT w/contrast, upper GI with small bowel follow-thru, blood work.  It started with constipation and required cytalopram, bentyl to get my intestines going again.  I suffered intense stomach aches and tried amitriptyline.  Ami knocked me out for 24 hours, so I stopped after one dose and also tapered off cytal and bentyl.  The worst of the stomach pain subsided and my intestines still work but I still have abdominal bloating with occasional pain that stops me in my tracks.  I am a healthy 37 year old engineer that exercises regularly and has a resting HR in the 40's.  I eat well but indulge once in a while.  I continue to eat and can digest the food but I still have this bloated feeling.

Any help would be much appreciated,
Carl
