Abdominal Pain

by rhodamae, Jul 21, 2008 10:02AM
My father is 71 years. Since March, he has been having chronic, sometimes severe, pain in his abdomen that radiates to his back.  The pain is right above the navel.  He has had a colonoscopy, endocscopy, CT scan, MRI, and ultrasound.  All tests have come back normal.  It may be a coincidence, but he had started a new medication about 3 weeks before the pain started.  Would it be possible that the new medication, Pletal, would be causing this much pain?  The pain has gotten so bad that he's currently taking Darvocet every 4 hours.

Anyone mentioned aneurism of abdominal aorta? It can be determined by abdominal ultrasound, but if not speciffically looked for it, it may be missed.
