Abdominal Pain

by dodobird80, Sep 02, 2008 05:51AM
I am a healthy male 80 yrs of age. I have never had any problems until recently. This past Sunday I went to bed & woke up an hour later & got strong pains in the lower abdomen. They continued for about 16 hrs with no let up. I had to vomit 3 times & also had a bowel movement (after 4 days).  I had nothing to eat Monday but did drink a hot cup of tea. & later a small glass of orange juice. I went to bed last night feeling better but woke up this morning with the pains returning but not as bad. I have been taking a Multi Probiotic for about a week for the constipation. I have had constipation for most of my life but never had any pains or complications till now. I had no desire or potential to do anything yesterday. I was very weak and miserable.  What could be the reason for these pains?

Could it have been something you ate, have you worked out what you had for Dinner the evening before, as you had to vomit it sounds food related, Drink plenty and eat lightly if you still get pain a visit to the Doc would be good.

sounds like pains from constipation to me. maybe just drink alot of water and eat a little bit of healthy food. eat maybe a couple of pieces of fruit. the water should get rid of the constipation. hope you feel better!
