colon they ran EVERY test they thought of including colonoscopy. Every test came back normal , no abnormalities. He has had these problems on and off for about 2.5 yrs but recently they have been very frequent. He is not taking any aspirin
or NSAIDS, due to allergy of these. He had artificial disc replacement of L4/L5 back in 2006. Anyone else with any information that could help , I would greatly appreciate it !!
Thank you in advance. Caturday-Pam
, or if the wall of the colon is engorged and that's what's making the whole of it larger than normal. If it's the wall, find out if a biopsy was taken from the lining of the colon in that area during the colonoscopy. If it wasn't, then find out why not. If they tell you that 'there was nothing to see,' find another doc and then have the new doc review the notes. There are problems that can happen under the lining of the GI tract that can't be seen at the surface and if it's under the surface a biopsy is necessary.
If the colon itself is enlarged, query your husband about his bowel habits - from childhood. At times the colon can enlarge and stay enlarged because fecal material isn't propelled properly though it due to who knows what, or perhaps due to a lack of nerves in that area of the colon.
