Aerophagia

by beetle1, Mar 20, 2002 12:00AM
Is there anyone who has suffered from Aerophagia.  Been to many doctors? Taken all kinds of tests?  No doctor to recognize and treat the problem? That's me.  I need your help.  Where did you go for help?  What was the solution?

My mom has this, benzodiazapines help alot, especially if it caused by anxiety but aerophagia can also indicate some other gastrointestinal problem (the swallowing alot of times is caused by excess salivation-that would be the case if something was causing nausia or abdominal pain) alot of people with an ulcer will belch becuase of symptomatic aerophagia, but aerophagia can occur by itself or with anxiety.  but benzodiazepines have helped her alot.
