After gallbladder removal

After gallbladder removal

Hi all
I have a question regarding my grandmother. She is 74 years old and just had her gallbladder removed because of gallstones. Everybody was saying how fast the recovery is going to be, and how she'd feel good a few days after the surgery. It's been 4 days and she keeps feeling worse and worse. The doctors said all her pain is because of accumulating gas. The painkiller they prescribed doesn't get rid of all the pain, it hurts around her left side, back, stomack area (which i understand to be the results of the surgery procedure?), and right arm and hand (pain is concentrated in the palm of right hand). Anything she eats causes more pain (even though she only eats liquidy mild foods), nausea-almost all the time, headaches, and some kind of a rash on her back, right breast, and next to her right armpit. The rash is bumpy, dark red with whiteheads.  Her friend had the same procedure and recovered within a week. Are all these really results of the surgery and gallbladder removal? And how long could they last?
