I stopped drinking about 10 months ago. For the last three - four months I have been suffering from hemmoroids (hemorrhoids). Is there any direct connection between alcohol/drug use or abstinence and hemmoroids (hemorrhoids)?
CONGRADULATIONS on your ten months!!!! :-D
I asked my dad your question. He's a recovering alcoholic, and i asked him about things that he went through. He said that while he himself never experienced hemmorhoids after he quit drinking, people that he's talked to have had all sorts of weird things happen to them after they've stopped. Quitting drinking can be a shockAcute respiratory distress syndrome Cardiogenic shock Electroconvulsive therapy Hepatic ischemia Hypoglycemia Hypovolemic shock Lithotripsy Shock Toxic shock syndrome to your system, and it no doubt could upset your bowels causing constipation which cause hemmorhoids. I've never heard of, and i doubt that there is a proven direct link between hemmorhoids and quitting drinking, but i do know that drinking will make them bleed and ache a LOT more! Lol, i know that i haven't really answered your question all that well, but i mostly wanted to congradulate you on your ten months sobriety. KEEP IT UP!!!! Good luck to you.
