Anal Bleeding, bumps, itching

Just recently noticed some grey "piles" or bumps around my anus. Whenever I have a bowel movement there is a small amount of bright red blood on the tissue, sometimes itching, soreness, and burning. I've tried some hemmroid medication, specifically hemmroid pads not cream. Tonight there was a lot of blood in the toliet bowl along with my bowel movement. There hasn't been any diarehea <sp?> or constipation. Most seems normal except for the other stuff. Any help or advice is appreciate. Can I use some type of home remedy or should I consult a doctor at this point? Thank you again.
