Help! First off, I am a 30 year old male...So what started with a little bit of an anal itch 5 months ago has turned into a full blown anal yellowish anal discharge
with a yeast infection. I contsantly have to go to the bathroom to try and keep the area dry and "clean up" down there. The itch is sometimes uncontrollable!! I have been to gastrointerologist, proctologist, internist, dermatologist, infectious
test, blood work, food allergy test. I have also been on Cipro and flagyl which cause my skin to break out, keflex and a z-pac all without success. The latest drug that I am is from the infectious
disease doctor who thinks its candida so I am on 200MG diflucan for a week but that is not working either. They did do a swab culture test and it came back for Strep-B, but according to the infectious
disease Dr, that is not uncommon and with all the antibiotics i have been on he is hesitant to give me more.... I do have a mild corn and wheat allergy but not gluten according to the blood. I tried going gluten free but that did not work either. At this point I am not sure what to do who to go to anymore....anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?
All this sounds familiar. My daughter-23- has gone through a similar ordeal.
She must have had, all the symptoms or close to, relative to all digestive and G.I.
conditions. Bloating, belching, cramps, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pains, burning sensations, indigestion, nausea, weakness, fatigue, mental fog, hair loss, stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, memory loss, insomnia, skin problems. Name it!
If this does not take one's quality life away, I wouldn't know what does.
The problem with such conditions is that diagnosis is far too complicated.
And because of this, one may have to go through an entire medical circuit, involving
numerous tests, medications, running from specialist to specialist and at the end
at best some "possible" diagnosis. It could be mis-diagnosis, over-diagnosis, under-diagnosis and for some others a bit more exact. Most Doctors, I.m sure, within the limitations of our medical system, have the best intentions, of course. So no blame there.
Well she decided to take matters into her own hands, as she lost confidence
in what has being suggested to her next.
Well now, after a couple years, she has managed to claim her life back, and is able to function again in society, with a renewed interest in her future.
All this because of her excellent research skills, her perseverance, our support and faith and the help of a young and very kind Naturopathic Doctor (who did not count her time!).
It has been a Life lesson for all of us. My own health and medical knowledge has widened, and my spirituality has reached a new level.
Because of any advice that I may have for you, is 100% holistic, as per forum rules,
please post at the alternative therapies -within MedHelp- or message me directly.
So do not be overly concerned with the lack of diagnosis, focus your intention
and energy towards re-balancing and strengthening your body's systems, and true healing will follow.
(My daughter up to this point never had an official diagnosis. Her guess is Ulcerative Colitis, Candida Albicans and I.B.S. all together
She's made a very satisfactory progress, which is quite remarkable considering the severity of her condition- not 100% yet- and with no medications!)
So hang in there, please post or message me soon,
and I'll get back to you in a day or two.
Blessings,
Nikodicreta
