Any idea what a lump to left of belly button could be?

About 2 months ago I started experience abdominal pain and a lump 2 inches wide by 1 inch high appeared to the left of my belly button. I've been to three doctors who have told me not to worry about it, and 1 who recomended a colonoscopy to look at it, but my insurance won't cover that. It's only mildly painful, but I don't like that I have a bulge where there should not be one. Then, yesterday I saw it move after I had eaten, it slowly went toward my belly button, all but dissapeared, then came back. Anyone have anything like this happen to them? Thanks

No, none of the doctors thought of an umbilical hernia. I will ask them about that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ruby, did any of the docs mention the possibility of an umbilical hernia? Many people have them. They can be repaired when necessary.
