Any one have Hiatal hernia?

Does anyone suffer from hiatal hernia here?  My mother had/has it.  She got it under control with medication somehow and doesn't experience any discomofort anymore.   Early last year I started to have some strange sensation in my diaphram and chest are and I wonder if it is hiatal hernia.  although I do not have any heartburn at all.  I do have these weird vibrating feelings and pressure...  i thought it might be heart related...but my heart checks out fine...

Hi there i have a hernia which goes through a small hole in the chest wall i find it painful
when this happens i have different meds but i do not get relief from them .My doc says some ppl do not know they have one but i have pain with mine and i have also been told they can strangulate and be life threatening if it was the case, They say mine has been caused by heavy lifting( as i have horses) over the years not sure if that is true.
I am now having problems with gas filling my stomach and bloating and feeling sick im not sure if this is a seperate problem i am new to this site just tonight i hope i can find out more.
Some times i get a tight band and pressure around my ribs it feels like heart i hope its not .

well techbeat hiatal hernias have been proven to be congential( spread through genetics) therefore there is a possibility but you would reall need to get a barrium swall, or an upper GI endoscopy to confirm diagnosis, but if it isnt causing any symptoms... just the bloating and pressure it could simply be a sign of  the hernia presenting but maybe it is not located in a positon that directly applies pressure to the LES lateral esophageal sphincter which holds stomach contents in the stomach...or you could be getting gas i would need a phys exam to properly diagnose but i would go see your doctor if any symptoms occur or the feelings get worse... sorry if i didnt help keep me posted
