Anybody beewn on Alinia? After 2 weeks of severe abdominal pain and trip to the ER

where they thought my 10yr old originally had either gallstones or a bowel perforation due to the am't of pain and symptoms, he was released on pain meds and his followup visit reveals he still is not doing so well and in a lot of pain and bowel sounds not right.  The GI was not pleased the ER gave him a script for pain since they aren't 100% sure still what's going on and that type of med can change the bowel sounds, etc.   They were hypoactive in the ER, along with his symptoms (extreme pain, pale as a ghost, very weak, beginning of dehydration, full abdominal and upper right quardrant / gallbladder pain, etc.)  led to an immediate chest x ray (normal) and ultrasound (normal).

They put him on Alinia not waiting for stool samples (based on symptoms) since this has been going on now for 2 weeks and he's lost 7-8 lbs and nauseated with loose stools and pain.

Anybody been on this med?  He only has had 1 pill so too early to tell.

Meant to mention that he had bowel resection/appendectomy at 3mos old due to a large duplication intestinal cyst @ birth but they feel confident this is unrelated to adhesions, etc. which is good news and rules out appendicitis easily enough LOL!
