Anybody heard of Master Cleanse? Just want to feel better.

by April2, Jul 16, 2008 10:43AM
Has anyone heard of Master Cleanse? If so, what do you think of it? I'm thinking about trying it for a couple of weeks, not necessarily to lose weight but just to feel better. I've had problems with my gut for at least a year now. They're still not sure if I have Crohns or not. I've had ulcers and a mass removed last year. It just seems like everything upsets my stomach and gut anymore. I got lax the last few months, too, and started eating out a lot and buying more processed foods because they're easier and faster to make. I think I'm suffering for it now.
I noticed last year before my surgery to remove the mass that I couldn't eat anything without pain so I went on a liquid diet for a couple of weeks before the surgery. I just had clear liquids like broth. But I felt better! I think it was because I was giving my system a little break.
Anyway, that's why I thought about doing the Master Cleanse for awhile. I don't want to do anything dangerous though, so I was wondering if anyone else has tried it or heard about it and what they thought.
Thanks! I hope I hear back from a few of you.

Hi April, just my two cents.  I read about that during a recent bout with C Diff and learned some very scary stuff about further upsetting your normal gut flora, especially if you're already having gut issues.  Was also told it could push the bacteria further up into your gut.  Just be careful - and definitely ask your doc about it  Hope you feel better soon.
