I had my gallbladder removed in April 2001. Since having it removed I find that I'm always hungry. It seems as though I eat all day long and run to the bathroom all day long too. I'm just wondering if it is me or if there are others that are always hungry as well. I have not gained any weight since having my gallbladder removed, although I know I eat more now than before. Also didn't lose any weight when I had pancreatitisAcute pancreatitis Chronic pancreatitis Pancreatitis Pancreatitis, acute - ct scan Pancreatitis, chronic - ct scan in November and did not eat ANYTHING for 2 weeks. Any inputs are appreciated. Thanks!
You are probably right that the frequency of going to the bathroom is from all the rectal surgery I've had. I too go about 6 times in the morning and then it eases off. Its the weirdest thing. Glad to hear that it only took you two weeks to ease back on your pain medication. I'm glad my information helped you. As for rectal surgery versus gallbladder, I was definitely in more pain with the rectal surgery than the gallbladder one. BTW, I just turned 42 in April. All my problems started 2 days before my 40th birthday. Lucky me. Take care!
i have had a little experience helping people make the best of the situation after their gall bladder has been removed. i would encourage them to consume purified bovine salts and choline, start all meals with vegis and complete them with fruits. Restrict pork consumption to zero and limit refined carbohydrates as well. Water, Water, WATER! 8-8oz a day (no chlorine or flouride, etc.), deep breathing, exercise (yoga is awesome), sing, and raise your arms above your head when you have your bms. good luck, and remember STOP. DON'T RUSH, & NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP! best wishes
I had my gallbladder removed when I was 26,well now that I'm 29 they say I have pancreatitis.I went to the ER and they moved me to another hospital cause I'm 35 weeks pregnant well they was having a OBGYN looking after me that knew nothing about my pancreatitis so after being there for 2 days I sign myself out.I will be calling the doctor who removed my gallbladder 3 years old and see if he can help.I know they said for me NOT to eat but I'm pregnant and know I've got to put something in me for the baby so for the ones who have had this please tell me what I can eat.I did eat a bannana and it's stayed down.
thanks
I had pancreatitus (pancreatitis) 2 months ago and was in hospital for a week, IV fluids the whole week and when I finally got home I could not eat for a further week. I also did not lose any weight which I found strange. I am waiting to see the surgical doc about my MRI reults and I think he will remove my gall bladder. But he is concentrating on my Liver as I have had high liver enzymes for about 5 years and my Lupus specialist never thought to mention it to me. My worry is what happens to all the bile and bits when the gall bladder is removed, where does it all go.
any way just a thought, but the weight thing has really bothered me.
I had my entire gallbladder removed, because I had a junior size baseball of gallstones (that formed into a ball). Before the surgery I would have extreme gas pains in upper stomach. Now 2 years later I am still extremely hungry all the time, and I always get the odd the pain where my gallbladder used to be. I never had no advice from the doctors; after they removed my gallbladder... I did suffer the running to the washroom - now its getting a little better, but certain fast-food restaurant food still trigger me running to the washroom. I have gained 60 pounds and am trying to learn new ways to eat. I thank everyone who posted their wonderful information and I will try your (eating ideas)!
I had my gallbladder removed in January 2001, and I have had a hard time ever since. The doctor swore to me that I could eat any thing that I wanted, but come to find out there is no way. Since January I have found out that I can't eat ANY fried food of ANY kind, very few dairy prouducts, no salad of ANY kind, and if it has any kind of grease on it NO WAY! If I chance eating any of these items I will be in the bathroom BEFORE I finish eating. NO JOKE! This has become very irritating to me, due to the fact that I think I have figured things out and something that I normally can eat I get sick on. Is there anyone who knows anything about this? Before I had my gallbladder out I could eat anything I wanted to no problem. Now I am scared to even eat anything. Due to when I do get sick, I have horrible stomach pains, feel very nauseous, light-headed, and cold and hot flashes! Please if anyone has any ideas or knows of anything that has worked for them, let me know, at this point I am willing to try anything. Is there any medication that I don't know about, natural or prescription? I have talked to my doctor about this and he just keeps telling me that it is something that I just have to live with. But come on Please can't I live a more comfortable life than this?
Thanks for all your help in this matter!
Looking forward to hearing from someone very soon!!
By the way, it was exactly 2 weeks that my pain eased off and I'm now down to 1 or 2 pain pills a day!
