A few days ago my friends daughter had an
appendectomyAppendectomy
Appendectomy - series using
a procedure that used her navel to access and subsequentally remove an infected
appendixAppendectomy.
Just before the extraction was completed the
appendixAppendectomy was dropped inside the abdominal cavity. The surgeon then opened her up from the navel to the
pubicPubic lice bone to look for it but could not find it. The attending anaethestist advised that after three hours looking for it she would have to brought round which she was.
The prognosis now given is that the body will 'get rid of it'.
If that is the case why spend three hours looking for it?
Furthermore, my understanding is that this is very serious indeed. To have an
organOrgan-1 nr that has no blood supply dying in
ones body means that it can only putrify and
poisonAmmonia poisoning
Campylobacter enteritis
Contact dermatitis
E. coli enteritis
Food poisoning
Lead poisoning
Meningococcemia
Methylmercury poisoning
Poison control center - emergency number
Poison ivy - oak - sumac
Poison ivy - oak - sumac rash the body.
The question therefore is -Is this really the correct procedure
or should we seek a more competent advice and if so how?. Litigation is not the point we just want this young woman to live.
