I am very concerned over my daughter, about three or 4 weeks ago she started to complain of abdominal pain in her belly button area and said it was sharp pain. We took her to the doctor they said constipation. She then unfortunately fell on a storage tub and had a very bad bruiseBone bruise Bruise Bruise healing - series Muscle bruise Skin bruise on her abdominal area on her left side, so any further complaints of tummy we thought it was the bad bruiseBone bruise Bruise Bruise healing - series Muscle bruise Skin bruise. We took her to LPNA nurse practictioner and she said she was fine with bruiseBone bruise Bruise Bruise healing - series Muscle bruise Skin bruise. She then started complaining of same tummy ache in belly button area again dailyDaily combo Daily multiple for men 50+ Daily multiple for women Daily multiple for women 50+ Daily multiple vitamins Daily vite Daily-vite men's formula Daily-vite weight control,
I started to give her miralax which helped her bowels flow, the abdominal pain started waking her up at night she was cryingColic and crying Crying in infancy and lifting knees to tummy area, then complaining of mid back pain that seems relieved with pushing on her back. Then she started to vomiting projectile and abdominal pain after she woke up out of her sleep. We took her to ER hospital in the middle of the night and they took abdominal xray and said she had
ILEUS. Sent us home with suppository to stop the vomiting. My nurse practitioner said to watch her and they will repeat the xray in one week. She then complained all week long at school of tummy pain but no vomiting. She tonight complained of tummy pain, back pain, and burping a bit and started vomiting again this evening. She had a larger meal this evening at 6pm and started vomiting again about 11pm. The doctor was suppose to call us back to schedule an xray but did not. They do not open until monday. We are planning on taking her into urgent care in the morning. She does have large bowels and the night we took her to ER on Monday eve. she had 5 bowel movements that day. She has a long history of bladder infections. But other than that nothing major, she is healthy weight 75pounds 51 inches 7 years old, but does not want to eat much lately appetite reduce to 50% of what it used to be and has started to loose weight. If you have any information or suggestions we would really appreciate it. We are obviously very concerned about our daughter.
thank you
concerned parent
1st thing i wonder about is why a little girl of her age is having bladder infection so often?
secondly ,large bowel movement is normal, especialy when your young.
thats a good sighn of being healthy.
does she have diahrea often?
pain right above your belley button, with back pain and nausia could,,and i say could indiacate a aortic anyeurism,,,this could mimic digestive problems, but would show nothing on tests, they would have to be looking for such a thing.
a ct scan with barrium contrast would be good for the digestive tract, and let them do the iodine with the ct scan,,this simply is done to outline all the arterys and circulatory system, also it would outline any cancers, tumors, exct.
all that testing is pretty non evasive, and she shouldnt have a problem with it at all.
Thank you for your reply we really appreciate your time in our great concern for our baby.
We went to emergency room Sunday afternoon as she had
Woke up to vomiting 2-4 am
Emergency room visit at 10 am blood work, rectal exam said she was slightly constipated. Doctor recommended Miramax. Gave her IV with fluids & valum to
Calm her down, Normal abdominal exam, Normal Blood work.
She was not having any nausea when she was there and we had given her a vomiting
Suppository at 4 am and 15 mil of Tylenol. Recommended we see a GI doctor.
This was the same ER doctor we saw on the Feb 10th as well. But he only ordered
Abdominal X-ray on 2-10 which diag was ileus.
Monday 2-16 she seemed ok slept good, three small meals said she felt burp up slightly after her lunch but no vomiting. She said her tummy did not hurt. But we think fear of
Going back to ER may have stopped her complaining.
Tuesday am 5 am 2-17 she woke up from sleep vomiting 5-6 times between 5 am -7:30am
Kept her out of school again. Scheduled her to see nurse practitioner for referral to GI doctor. She is worse now this morning then previous episodes wanted to sleep next to toilet in fear of vomiting again, complained of pain in the center of her chest, belly button area and said when she puts her neck down it hurts her mid back and her chest and belly.
She has no diarrhea, normal child but has complained of tummy pains not so intense and no vomiting for over 1 ½ years doctor has said thought it was constipation.
She has a significant history of bladder infection that she has had one every month or two for over 1 ½ years. Doctor has only done urinalis and then recommend antibiotics.
Any help you could provide we would be extremely grateful
