Atrophic gastritis/diverticulitis: Please please help desperate...

Hello

I have no idea what is going on but ive been living in hell for a year now and have multiple symptoms. I had a scope done and was told I have atrophic gastritis which means the layers of the stomach lining have eroded, how? I dont know exactly. All I know is that my appetite has been shot and when I do eat I get really bad palpitations, not so much racing heart but more pounding heart which can be felt in my fingers, throat, head, chest, but, wrists, and sometimes even feet. People with atrophic gastritis are also at risk for stomach cancer. I also know i have some diverticulitis which was found from a previous scope about a year ago. I think perhaps when the food goes into the stomach it irritates the vagus nerve and causes the palpitations. Thats my theory. The food that I do eat does not get absorbed properly at all! This is so weird but I can fall asleep with a big pot belly and when I wake up in the morning , not only will the pot belly be gone, but my stomach will be sunk in and pelvic bones will be showing! I havent even gone to the washroom at this point! where is all the food going? When I do go to the washroom, the stool is poorly formed and almost like diarrhea , sometimes it will look solid but as soon as i flush it breaks up and turns into liquid,. point is the stool is poorly formed and of bad quality. Also,. ive noticed, when I do go to the washroom and the moments before I have the need to go,. i get a very bad increase in my normal daytime symptoms, esp. weakness, headache, muscle pain and shortness of breath. Ive almost had to call ambulance a few times because I thought I was going to pass out. Im pretty sure all these symptoms are happening because of the food not being absorbed and the load that its taking on the body. I have gotten all my vitamnins and nutrients checked and they seem to be in normal range, which makes it weird,. i think my body is absorbing a portion of the nutrients, but when it comes to carbs, fat and protein, its not absorbing that stuff at all. I am underweight and cant seem to put on any weight at all... I really dont know for sure what is going on but im scared,. im thinking it may be parasites but a stool analysis said there was no parasites in the stool,. i was thinking its candida, but stool analysis said there was no candida in stool,. so it must be something wrong with my GI tract where its not absorbing the carbs protein and fats at all,... i dont know,. im hoping the community can help me out here,.. i cant even take simple amoxicillin without having bad palpitations and inflammation,.. im really scared and dont know what to do,. I have also just recenly found out that every month, my White blood cell count goes lower and lower and so does the Neutrophil counts,. both wbc and neutrophils are out of normal range right now. here is a list of all my symptoms,. some are more severe than others,.

- muscle spasm all over body which are visable (daily)
- palpitations (more hard pounding which can be felt in feet, bum, fingers, wrists, neck, chest, VERY annoying) - daily
- nasal congestion (find it happens everytime when i eat, and in mornings when i wake up, can also happen throughout the day)
- muscle pain/wasteage, scary and painful muscle pain and shrinkage along with twitching - daily
- lightheadedness (feels like im going to pass out)
- headache
- shortness of breath, labored breathing
- lack of energy, weakness
- stomach aches and pain
- teeth grinding

I hope you guys can give me some advice on what to do here, or what tests to get, or what could be going on with me..

thank you

THANKS for the reply
the problem with the GI doc is that he is soooo passive! he didnt even give me a piece of paper or any written documents telling me about the atrophic gastritis,. i have no idea if i have the autoimmune or the h pylori type. all he did was simply tell me in passing that i have atrophic gastritis and that i may get stomach cancer and i asked him whats the remedy and treatment and he said there is none and that i just need to get yearly scopes done to check if i have a tumor growing and then he sent me on my way. my family doc was kinda upset with him as was I so she is sending me to a new GI doc to get a 2nd opinion. To be honest, i feel as if I have the autoimmune type because i feel like i have low iron judging from my symptoms,.. i will get the blood test for intrinsic factor and see if i got anti bodies.

I believe there are two main causes of atrophic gastritis and they can be distinguished histologically. So you may need to review the records with your doc.

The H. pylori-associated form usually is found throughout the stomach, the top (fundus), middle (body) and bottom (antrum). The other form is called autoimmune gastritic and it is typically found in the top and body of the stomach.

Those with autoimmune gastritis may develop anemia because of extensive loss of parietal cells and they'll also have antibodies against the 'intrinsic factor' that is produced that carries the B-12 that is taken in, into the small intestine for uptake.

Those that have H. H pylori–associated atrophic gastritis frequently are asymptomatic, in general.

There is a reason for the atrophic gastritis - go back and talk to your doc.
