Autoimmune Hepatitis

I was just diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis. Does anyone know much about this disease? My doctor is a gastroenterologist and seems quite knowledgeable but I am not sure if he is the correct TYPE of doctor for this type of disease.......If anyone has, or knows someone who DOES have, AID, I would appreciate any information about treatments, side effects, reading material, etc. I am quite overwhelmed by all this. I had always been so healthy up until now and this has all hit me like a freight train.....
She has been talking prednizone now the 2 years and is lowering her dose gradually. She was yellow for a long time. Now she is pretty normal in color. Seems tho she cant be around people with flues and such. You should look on the net for infor.
also there are clinics that have special doc for this. Near or in Toronto, Canada. That were she goes hope this helps. kaylea
