My husband had part of his Colon removed 4 years ago, which he had a temp illestomy each day he felt better then 5 months later it was closed and he's felt ill since, about 2 years ago we asked about B12 and afyet some bloods tests he had to have 4 x 1000 boosts of medication, he has had tests since back a few months ago which was 289,three weeks agpo he saw his GP who ran the tests again and they are now 131 so every second day he is having a injection 6 in total.
Could you tell me what the acceptable reading should be aqnd if we can do anything more to help keep his B12 up
The normalNormal saline flush blood level of vitamin B12 ranges between 200 and 600 picogram/milliliter (148-443 picomol/liter).
To get more B12, he may want to try one of the many sublingual B12 supplements. (I use the the ones put out by "Source Naturals".) Just make sure that the b12 is methylcobalamin, as it is received better by the body. This may help.

Good luck.
