All the stories I've read here and at other sites about this particular test does NOT have me looking forward to my BE next week. In fact, I'm thinking of running AWAY from it. Had a colonoscopy in June but I have a narrow, tortuous colon and they could not complete the test. Now my actual worry is the size of this "balloon" that is inserted--this must be the part that makes it so uncomfortable. Do these actually come in sizes? I was awake partially for my first colonoscopy and did feel some great discomfort whether that was from the tube or the air or was actually when they were cutting the polyps, I can't be sure--just hope that it's not that same pain here.
The tube is really small that is inserted and the balloon is small as well. You will mainly only feel the liquid being inserted- it will be cold and give you the urge
