Barretts Esophagus

by cuddles928, Dec 28, 2008 07:31PM
I have had reflux disease for 15 years.  I am 62 and last week diagnosed with Barretts.  My gastroenterologist is very highly regarded in the MA area.  He told me I have a very short segment of Barretts.  He said that it puts me at only slightly higher risk for esophageal cancer compared with the general population who do not have Barretts.  I have no dysplasia.  Repeating an endoscopy in a year.  Do you agree with his statement of not to worry.

This discussion is related to Barrets oesophogus.
