Belching, stomach pain and gas

by phillysun, Jul 08, 2001 12:00AM
I am a 36 year old male and for last six months or so I have been having persistent belching with stomach pain and gas.
Pretty much after eating any meal, I get pain in the left middle part of my stomach followed by belching. Intrestingly, if I lie down, I seem to control belching really well, as if some sphincter shutss off passgae of gas to my oesophagus.

Tests with my general physician have all turned out negative thus far: blood and stool test, barium xray and ultrasound.

Any one have any ideas what this may be or what I should do?

Sunny

Have you had your gall bladder checked?  Increased belching can be one of the symptoms as well as stomach pain.

Have you had EGD (upper endoscopy) done?  You may have H.Pylori gastritis and hiatal hernia on top of it.
