Belching after meals, burning sensation for 2 months

by kfm, Sep 05, 2001 12:00AM
.I had H. Pylori almost 2 years ago and took triple medication to treat it, an endoscopy afterwards confirmed eradication.

About 2 months ago I had something like a stomach flu, cramping, diarrhea but no fever for 4 days.  Since then, I have been experiencing belching after meals, some mild burning sensation in the stomach usually 1-2 hours after meals almost on a daily basis.   I have been taking Acidophilus for a weeks but the belching continues, and the burning sensation still persists.

My doctor told me since I had an endoscopy done only 2 years ago, he is not gonna do it just yet.   What worries me is that its been over 2 months that this problem lingers, it bothers me very much that I seem to always have some "sensation" in my stomach, my doctor did a stool test and ruled out parasites.

Any suggestion?

Here's a question: are your current symptoms similar to what you had with the H. Pylori 2 years ago? Your flu-like illness seems unrelated to your upper GI problems. I would insist on another scope if your gut feeling(sorry) is that the H. Pylori is back.

I've been feeling the same burning sensation, but I think it's in my intestines. I also had H. PILORY which was erraticated according to tests made through breath. I think it doesn't come back anymore. My intestines burn ussually after 1 to 2 hours after eating.I ussually take anti-gas medicines to release gases, but it doesn't help that much. The doctors I have visited have told me I have IBS, which makes sense...These burning sensation persist for more than a year and I don't know what to do any more!!! If somebody can help me I really appretiate. At least, explain me what happends when this BURNING IN THE INTESTINES can cause future problem and if there is any treatment.  Thank you. H PILORY has nothing to do with Burning Sensation in the intestines.
